A TRIP TO JAIPUR – JANTAR-MANTAR, HAWAMAHAL, AMER FORT (PART 2)

Hey! Guys,
After extravagant experience of The City Palace we moved to Jantar-Mantar which was just few meters away. I remember visiting Jantar Mantar with my parents in my childhood and for sure I was a kid to understand all the technicalities and the importance of amazing architecture.
So this time I thought will try to grasp as much knowledge as possible with the help of my elder sister. We were mesmerised with the amazing ancient astronomical observations. The Jantar Mantar is an expression of the astronomical skills and cosmological concepts of the court of the scholarly prince at the end of the Mughal period.
It was designed in 18th century for the observation of astronomical positions with the naked eye, they depicts several architectural and instrumental innovations. It bears witness to very ancient cosmological astronomical and scientific traditions shared by a major set of Western, Middle Eastern, Asian and Africans religions, over a period of more than fifteen centuries.
I was really fascinated with the way everything was done with so much passion for calculations and left Jantar- Mantar with huge pride and respect. Please do hire a guide or read before going otherwise you are going to have a really hard time understanding everything.
Well! after this we explored The market, we were really thirsty as it was noon. So we had Kesar Pista Shake filled with dry fruits and it was the yummiest shake we ever had, #musttry Kesar Kulfi. Shop name was Ramchandra Juice and Kulfi Centre, and shake was only for Rs 40 (worth of every paisa).
After that we clicked amazing pictures in front of Hawa Mahal and decided not to go inside as we were on a tight schedule and had to visit Jewellery Vendors.
As you guys know, I am a huge Silver Junk Jewellery fan and I can guarantee that I was a nomad in my previous birth. Ohh! Man we found such pretty stuff for my upcoming shoots and price was 1/4 of what we pay outside. Definitely we had to bargain a lot, but jewellery simply made my day.
Next we took an Auto Rikshaw for “AMER FORT”.
Amer fort is massive located high on a hill, Tour guides will follow you from the start hoping that you would hire them. To reach The fort either hitch a ride or enjoy a ride atop an elephant. People will try to fool you that it’s hard to climb 1000 stairs, but we decided to climb and count, there were not more than 300 steps.
The fort and the town gets it’s name from Goddess Ambe, the prime deity of the Meena dynasty. It is place that should be must visit for every Indian and for every art lover as it is full of artistic marvels, be it paintings, carvings, architecture and so on.
The main complexes with the fort are Diwan-i-Aam a hall meant for private audience, the splendid Sheesh Mahal, Jai Mandir and the Sukh Niwas, a complex that had natural air conditioning and this could happen because of the wind that blew across a water area built within. It is definitely a sign of creativity and wisdom of that time. The Sheesh Mahal has mirror mosaics and coloured glass all over. Even if a single candle is lit, it’s reflections in the thousands of mirror inside the Sheesh Mahal Makes it appear like thousand stars. A VISUAL DELIGHT!!..
The Amer Fort is a delight to just behold and when you pass through it’s many courtyards or look around from above the fort, you are transported into a  rich and elegant bygone era when living was about preserving and following culture and traditions. Visit the fort and you will be blessed with an experience that you will cherish forever.

Hope you guys like the post, I’ll see you next with my amazing experience of  KASHMIR.

A TRIP TO PARADISE-KASHMIR (Part-2) Gulmarg

Heaven
After three days of amazing experience in Srinagar, next day early morning we started our journey for Gulmarg.

It was a two and half hour journey and just before Gulmarg, our driver stopped the car for a quick refreshment at Tanmarg and for renting jackets and boots to protect ourselves from the heavy snow. You can rent this stuff as per your convenience but the quality and fit are not that great so you have to force the salesman “BHAIYA! please aur dikhao.” So, please bargain a lot.

Ohh! gloves are a must otherwise it’s going to be tough to play in the snow. Gulmarg is hardly 20-25 minutes from Tanmarg but because of snow-clad roads, it’s tough and risky for the car to move ahead. So, drivers generally tie sharp chain on tires for better grip on the road.

Chained tires.

But seriously speaking you don’t mind a slow car as the view is just magical. Gulmarg looks so beautiful with snow and everything looks like straight out of fairytale movie. The entire valley was covered with a blanket of snow, stunning snow-capped mountain peaks and frozen pine trees.

View to die for ❤
Our car was stuck in the snow, so we had to walk to our hotel.

We booked our stay in ”The Khyber Himalayan Resort and spa.” The Khyber is located in the midst of the Pir-Panjal range and every room comes with a view of the Affrawat peaks or the inner valley view of Gulmarg, picturesque in its own way.

“The Khyber Himalayan Resort & Spa”
Heavy snow.
Fabulous wood carving ceilings.

We were greeted with hot Kehwa at the lobby and we were totally mesmerized with the architecture and gorgeous woodwork.

Welcome drink “Kehwa”

Thanks to the heavy snowfall the previous day, the entire valley looked straight out of a winter postcard. Staff was really humble and proactive in their service.

TEA IS LOVE.

Wood carvings all around, be it furniture or be it on windows & doors were of one of a kind. Vintage Kashmiri carpets were adding more beauty to this property. Glass windows were stretched from floor till the ceiling so one could enjoy the view.

Gorgeous entrance.

The rooms have been designed with comfort and luxury in mind. Our rooms were quite spacious and equipped with bespoke furniture and had a spacious balcony to enjoy a panoramic view of the valley.

Simply love it.
Wanna have some?

The highlight of the bathroom was a super amazing bathtub with a view. It was not a general view that you can ignore but the view of snow clad mountains and snow-covered trees. The view from the bathroom was like a Yashraj’s movie I could literally sit there for hours.

Million dollar view from the bathroom.

Spa, gym and other recreational activities are all interconnected through covered corridors. The best part of the hotel is an indoor heated swimming pool with a gorgeous view of the valley. You can buy a swimming costume if you are not carrying one. We all really enjoyed our time playing in the swimming pool. Post which we relaxed our nerves in a hot jacuzzi for ten minutes.

Then we were called for our prebooked spa facility. The Khyber L’Occitane spa is ideal for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. They use heavenly aromatherapy oils and massage from scalp to toes. The masseuses did an impressive job. We felt light and sleepy after this amazing massage.

After having an amazing experience of a spa, we headed for dinner as we were dying out of hunger. They offered us a free sweet dish to end our yummylicious dinner. Believe me, I slept like a baby.

Next day we had a quick breakfast so that we can hang around and play in the snow (i was damn excited). Our guide wanted to show us the playground but it was all covered in ten inches of snow, it still did not stop us from having a blast.

We all were behaving like a six-year-old even my Mother in law was actively participating and did not miss a moment of hitting us with snowballs. We all were giggling and shouting with our full heart. Damn! it was pure joy.

Busy in playing with snow.
Happy click.
US ❤

Next, we got ready for a visit to Shiv temple. Ohh! god, we could not see anything apart from snow. it was a really magical moment. We visited the temple after climbing 50-60 stairs, we felt blessed. Then we had lunch in local dhabha, we ate masala maggie and aloo stuffed paratha and a super hot cup of tea.

At Shiv temple.

After a tiring day, we lazed around on our couches and enjoyed watching Bollywood movies. We even played “chor-raja-sipahi” and can you guess who won this game..? Of course your girl M’fituri.. (LOL)

Me being real me.

Later my husband and his twin brother played snooker. And I decided to hit the gym to burn up some calories. Well, you should always try not to miss a workout even while traveling. The gorgeous view was an add on and trust me it was one of the better workouts.

The weather was not good so we couldn’t do any gondola ride or skiing. it was all shut but I seriously don’t mind as I enjoyed watching a surreal snowfall.

As I say goodbye to this beautiful journey, I knew in my heart that definitely I am going to refer this to friends and will come back again in the future. Be it with friends or family you will enjoy the stay over here.

Hope you guys like the post, I’ll see you next with one more amazing blog.

A TRIP TO PARADISE- KASHMIR (Part-1)

“GAR FIRDAUS BAR-RUE ZAMIN AST,
HAMI ASTO, HAMI ASTO,HAMIN AST.
The Mughal emperor Jahangir was so impressed by the beauty of Kashmir that he often used to say, if one has not visited this beautiful paradise, they are missing out on something worthwhile.
This time after Diwali we thought of going on a family trip, and as it was the start of the winter season and we all wanted to experience snowfall once in our lifetime so we planned a trip to Paradise which is Kashmir, fun fact that it is not my first time.
MY first trip to Kashmir was when i was only eight months old and airfare was just Rs 35, Imagine that!!! haa haa haa!!!
CAN YOU SPOT ME? ❤
So after having lovely get-together on Diwali (without Crackers) and delicious Firni and besan ladoo made by Mother-in-law, we packed our stuff for next day early morning flight.
In the morning we had some rough time with Uber so had to book other two cabs with Ola, it was a humble and clear ride to the airport.
We booked our tickets with Vistara, and I was quite excited about it, as was traveling with this particular airlines for the first time, but was little disappointed to see leg space was not enough and even food was not upto to the mark..(It’s ok we had home cooked Paneer sandwich)
Anyways we reached Kashmir in one and half hrs, and we were able to see beautiful mountains covered with snow from our windows.
img-20181109-wa0030
View to die for in literal sense.
We reached Reserve bank holiday home in the afternoon as my Father-in-law use to work in the same bank. For lunch we had the most yummiest  kashmiri pulav of our lives. Caretakers were so good and humble and their hospitality was beyond measures.
Reserve bank holiday home.

After lunch we tried traditional hot drink ‘kehwa’ with crushed almond chunks in it, it’s a popular post meal beverage. You can smell the amazing fragrance of saffron strands, cinnamon bark, cinnamon pods and occasionally added kashmiri roses.

“Kehwa”
So we started Kashmir visit from Mughal garden, which is situated along Dal Lake. It was laid in 1619 by Mughal emperor Jahangir for his beautiful wife Nur Jahan. Divided into three terraced parts, this garden is lined with trails of chinar and carpeted with colourful flower beds. Exquisite arched niches called chini khanas form the highlight of this garden.
Family picture
Happy girlie moment.
Chashme Shahi Garden is the smallest Mughal Garden but is equally picturesque and impressive as its counterparts. This garden earns fame for its natural springs of freshwater, and believe me it was purest form of water i have ever had in my life. We decided to take some of this water with us, but we soon realised that we didn’t have a water bottle on us. So my brother in law went to the local shop and bought a bottle of coke. We then had to finish that bottle of coke while braving the chilly winds on top of Chasme Shahi.
Chasme Shahi
Eak garam chai ka hug.
JUST IMAGINE!! drinking super chilled coke in snow clad mountains with the temperature being 2degrees.
Another fascinating attraction in Kashmir is the small wooden-carved boats called ‘Shikara’. You can find plenty of them on Dal Lake.

With my husband.

Usually colourful and decorated, a typical boat ride will take you on a journey across the lake, through the many houseboat shops situated on the lake and the shores. During the trip, other Shikaras will usually flock around your boat to sell local things like local costume jewellery, stones, flowers, kesar (saffron), etc.

Uff!! what a view.
In love with this capture.
Shikara Ride
Viewing the sunset over the Dal lake is another must-do in Srinagar.
Sunset at Dal-Lake
Shankaracharya Temple as the name suggests is lord shiva’s temple. The name comes after a saint Shankaracharya, who visited the valley around 10 centuries ago to spread his philosophy of Vedanta. He was well known for popularising the worship of Lord Shiva in Jammu and Kashmir. Photography and any luggage is not permitted after a point. It is a wonderful panorama etched in our minds. This view made the Shankaracharya Temple one of our best experiences in Srinagar. Highly recommended.
Kheer Bhawani is a temple dedicated to the Goddess Kheer Bhavani (originally just Bhawani) constructed over a sacred spring. The worship of Kheer Bhawani is universal among the Hindus of Kashmir.
Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple.
Mata Kheer- Bhawani Temple

The term kheer refers to rice pudding that is offered in the spring to propitiate the Goddess, which became part of the name of the temple.

Kheer as prashad.

It is the most important temple for the Kashmiri Hindus in Kashmir, known as the Kashmiri Pandits. Around the temple is an area covered with smooth and beautiful stones.

“Peace is always beautiful.” —Walt Whitman

While most of the colours do not have any particular significance, the colour of the spring water changes occasionally. When black or darkish, it is believed to be an indication of inauspicious times for Kashmir.

The colour of spring water is aqua blue right now.
The Hazratbal Shrine is a Muslim shrine in Hazratbal, Srinagar. It contains a relic, the Moi-e-Muqqadas, believed by many Muslims of Kashmir to be a hair of Muhammad. The name of the shrine comes from the Urdu word Hazrat, meaning “respected”, and the Kashmiri word bal, meaning “place”. Thus it means the place which is given high regards and is respected among the people.
Hazratbal Mosque
Hazratbal’s special significance is derived from the fact that it houses a hair of the prophet Muhammad. This is displayed to the public on religious occasions, usually accompanied by fairs. Hazratbal is remarkable for being the only domed mosque in Srinagar.
Pari Mahal is seven terraced garden which was laid in mid-17th century by Dara Shikoh, eldest son of Shah Jahan. It has been referred by Dara Shikoh as a residential School of Sufism headed by his spiritual guide Akhun Mullah Shah, a Sufi saint.
Pari Mahal

My Hare-Rama Hare-Krishna look.

Mughals always had a special place for Kashmir and many of Kashmir attractions have been built by them. This place is also one of them with amazing Sufi past and blissful natural beauty.

Appreciate the simple things.

There are gardens full of blooming flowers on all levels of terraces.

Melody pink dahlia
peach-red dahlia
Dahlia white perfection.
Next day early morning we headed for Pehlgam aka mini Switzerland of India. it took us near about 2.30hrs one way. On the way you can see saffron fields (at Pampore) and apple garden. You can purchase authentic Kashmiri saffron from Pampore. Pony rides are available to a scenic meadow called Baisaran or ‘Mini Switzerland’ from city center and with full bargaining.
You’ll never know until you go.
My Nomad avtar.
Pony rides are really interesting and fun, you are going to enjoy this for your entire life. We hired 5 ponies, one each for us and started off at a gentle pace. The pony attendants walked beside us guiding the animals.
The world changes when it snows.

These places are some of the most beautiful locales in Pahelgam but can be explored only on horseback. So aged people and those who are not capable to ride ponies will be deprived from such scenic places.

Posing with our ponies.
Some more posing.
we moved on through the hilly trails and reached Pahelgam valley, a point from where the city can be viewed. Then we moved across streams, hilly terrain, boulders and reached a vast grassland called Baisaran or mini Switzerland.
Must have a picture with my tea-cup.

The lush green grasslands fully covered with snow, lined with pine trees and mountains beyond, were a treat for the eyes.

Hubby in swag mode.
Busy in my own world.
Happy girl.
After exploring around for some time we mounted on our ponies again and started moving down the slope of the mountains through the pine forest. By this time we had learnt to control the ponies with the reins. My pony’s name was ‘Bahadur’ a very notorious one. It was really an amazing experience.
At mini- Switzerland.
It was now time to return. The pony attendants took us through zig-zag trails, woods and villages and finally arrived at the main market place. We got off our ponies, our backs aching with the bumpy ride we had all day.
Gorgeous view.
We headed straight to Punjabi’s Rasoi, a very popular vegetarian restaurant. We had our lunch and a cup of tea as we were feeling really cold.
Pahalgam has many shops offering all things from Kashmir like, shawls, carpets, clothing with the unique chain-stitch embroidery and farens (long woollen ponchos unique to Kashmir). Beware of the hawkers, they will often ask for five times the actual price.
These products are vibrant, durable and at the same time cost-effective.
Gift your nears and dears the special tokens of love from Kashmir.
Shalu Kaul Didi (Sister-in-law) and family.. Thank you a million times over for your hospitality. You deserve so much more than just a thank you. It means so much to us, Please accept our sincere thanks!

A TRIP TO JAIPUR – CITY PALACE (PART 1)

20181001_185255
Hey! Guys,
Before I tell you about my amazing journey to Rajasthan let me tell you a secret about my family. My bade Dadaji (Grandfather) faught in the Second World War as a soldier for East India Company against Germany.  He came back alive and well with some amazing stories to share. I learnt of this during my trip home.
Well, this explains the royal sword in my ancesrtral home. Believe me guys it’s quite exciting to know about your family history.
Anyways, as I was researching for my womenswar fashion line, I was quite intrigued by the cultural history of my land, specially the clothes ; So to know more I decided to pay a visit to Jaipur.
With my fabulous sister as my travel companion. We boarded the A/C lower deck sleeper bus courtsey MILAN TRAVELS, and after a super comfortable & safe night journey reached Jaipur early morning around 5.30 A.M.
20180914_093849

20180914_103107Everything is quite convenient these days, Thanks to the smooth internet facility we were able to book our OYO room during the journey.
It was going to be a tough day as a lot needed to be done before we went back; market research, sourcing fabrics, meeting block printing vendors, buying junk jewellery, capturing The city through my lens and much more.
WELL!! It looked simple but i knew it will be tiring, difficult and tough to achieve in one day. So without wasting much time, we took a shower and got ready for an amazing breakfast of rava upma and killer chai ( CHAI LOVER! ) .
We started our journey to our first destination.

The CITY PALACE!!….

The City Palace was built by Sawai Jai Singh who is also known as the founder of Jaipur City. Today, there are two parts of the Palace, one which is opened for the public and also has a museum, and the descendants which as of live here even now.

There are three main gates to the Palace which are Tripolia gate, Virendra Pol and Udai Pol. Well my favourite spot was the third Courtyard. There are four smaller gates in third Courtyard, which are believed to represents four seasons. The Peacock Gate with motifs of peacocks on the doorway representing autumn and dedicated Lord Vishnuji, the Lotus Gate with continual flower and petal pattern is suggestive of summer season and dedicated to Lord Shiva-Parvati, the Green Gate also called the Leheriya gate, in green colour is suggestive of spring and dedicated to Lord Ganesha, and lastly, the Rose Gate with repeated flower pattern representing winter season and dedicated to Goddess Devi.

20181001_19151220181001_191147

20181007_165635All these gates are decorated likewise and it is sheer delight to just look at these gates, and entering it is a bliss.
One of famous items in the City Palace are two silver jars which have found place the Guinness Book of World record as largest silver vessels in the world. They were made from 14,000 melted silver coins. These vessels were specially made by Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II, to carry the water of the Ganges to drink on his trip to England, as he was finicky about committing religious sin by consuming the English water.

There are a number of crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.

20180914_102915

20180914_102131
Apart from Mubarak Mahal and the Chandra Mahal, there are Pritam Niwas Chowk, Diwan-i-aam, Diwan-i-khas, Bhaggi khana, Maharani Palace and the Govind devji temple. It is quite a vast complex, so comfortable shoes or flat sleepers are preferrable as you will have to walk a lot, near about 2hrs. Thank God we were able to finish it by 11.20 a.m.

20180930_18291220181001_19245520181001_192231

The City Palace is a landmark in Jaipur and is also a very popular tourist hotspot. Apart from the regal architecture, the palace offers a stunning view of the Pink City and also an insight into the rich heritage of a bygone era. The City Palace is a must-see while visiting in Jaipur.

“MANALI SAFARNAMA”

IMG_2154
Year 2017 started with many resolutions, one was I wanted to visit six new places. And, my brother suggested a trip to Manali.
On the 4th of June along with my brother’s family went on a road trip from Chandigarh to Manali.

IMG_1983

So, we started our journey at 6 in the morning. Entire journey was filled with beautiful expectations and anticipations, there were many pit stops for food, chai and nature’s call. The youngest traveller of the group my nephew ‘Ronnie’ who is 2yrs old, had quite a few emergency stops (it’s always fun traveling with kids), as he was constantly hungry, thirsty or wanted to use restroom for nature’s call.

DSCN4066DSCN4061

In no time the temperature dropped to 16 degree.
The view of the mountains was magnificient and in a way surreal. For the very first time I saw rainbows while it was raining, I was feeling so fresh and at peace.

IMG_2155IMG_2153

Manali is just gorgeous and a must visit place.
During the journey we had a lots of Popcorn, Aloo Paratha, awesome dhaba chai, lemonades and many other snacks… We even had medicines to cure nauseous feeling. (Yeah! definitely some of the time you feel dizzy while traveling through those mountain roads).

DSCN4084

Finally in the last minutes of the setting sun, we reached Manali. We had booked a Villa which had a fabulous view of the vally. Dark mountains in a light blue background of the setting sun made for an amazing view.
So, next morning we started our day. with a delicious breakfast and fresh local juices. The weather was really pleasant so I wore my grey shirt dress from Max, sneakers and a little bag-pack from Aldo so that I can stuff my needfuls, goggles, side braids and high pony for ultimate ready for ready to go vibe.DSCN4092DSCN4077DSCN4091DSCN4073DSCN4093DSCN4087
We saw Hidimba Temple made of wood carvings and saw yak, sheep, huge rabbits, my sis-in-law tried pahadi look with my niece, kids tried their hands on go-carting.

IMG_2967IMG_2989IMG_2963IMG_3109IMG_3140IMG_1940IMG_1947IMG_2026DSCN4124

Next stop was Vashisht temple. It’s construction is mesmerising, there is continuous flow of hot water inside and near the temple.

IMG_3110IMG_3219IMG_3223IMG_3211

On our way back from Vashisht Temple in the evening we had amazing delicious masala maggie, sweet corn and bought many gorgeous antique neckpieces and earrings, from a nearby flea market.
Nature is main show stopper, weather creates such lovely mood, so you will definitely enjoy every moment. You can also enjoy water sports in the valley.

img_2048.jpgIMG_3044IMG_1966

Scenic beauty with rivers and mountains, rainbows, birds and everything is tough to forget.
Thanks to my brother who planned this whole trip, thanks to my sis-in-law who continously fed us (our own chef for trip) and a big thanks to the kids for continuously playing, laughing and cheering and making me relieve my childhood days.

JOURNEY TO SAND DUNES – BIKANER

IMG_3516
Most of us these days have our travel bucket list(s) and love ticking destinations off. I suggest you add Bikaner to this list because ticking it off is now going to be easier via airplanes also.
Bikaner is famous for many things. From the food, the safari on the camels, watching the setting sun over the sand dunes, listening to the voices of the kalbelia dancers/ singers. etc.
IMG_3508

I always wanted to do a shoot in sand dunes, as used to imagine folk people calling out for me, singing ‘Padharo Mahare Des’ with Thar desert in the backdrop, and me wearing a long dress with long red dupatta.
IMG_3488IMG_3502
So, when I bought this pink coloured maxi dress I thought to myself that this is the kind of dress I would imagine myself in with the sand dunes all around me!…
Me, my dad and my sister went looking for the sand dunes and mind you it wasn’t easy. This new constructions and hot weather almost made it impossible. We did find a few of them on the outskirts of the city eventually.
IMG_3472IMG_3405
This pink dress is from Max. (again! ) and why not. The fabric, the cut, the gorgeous colour and the fall… beautiful. The price just adds to the excitement.
The maxi is enhanced with antique silver jewellery which I bought from my last trip to Manali.
IMG_3522
IMG_3498
The boho-ish bag is also one of my proud possessions 8years and still strong from westside Jaipur.
IMG_3480
The edgy yet classy looking shades are from Opium.
IMG_3430IMG_3432
A little bit of desi vibe is given by the small significant bindi on the forehead.
IMG_3530
The super comfortable footwear is from the local market of Bandra (Mumbai). Adding the finishing touches to the boho look is the strong Kada anklet on one leg and quite a few silver rings on my fingers.
IMG_3433
It was a mesmerising view early morning, nice and windy and hence I kept my hair open for natural candid moments.
The entire shoot was made possible by the ever so energetic badi behen Suman Kataria (my camera person for this shoot) and supportive Dad ( my alarm, driving force and shoot scene locator).

How to style a Men’s dhoti…

Black is modest and arrogant at the same time.
Black is lazy and easy.
-but mysterious.
But above all black
Says this: ‘I don’t bother you-
don’t bother me.
YOHJI YAMMAMOTO
IMG_7892 (1)
As People again have started styling and incorporating traditional looks with modern twist … And whenever I get bored with my wardrobe, I pick anything from my husband’s closet be it T-shirt or Shirt or a comfy Cardigan, don’t we all love this habit of ours a lot..(wink).

IMG_7878IMG_7873

Well this time I picked up a Men’s dhoti from ”ANTAR-AGNI”. It is very comfortable and it has got perfect volume to make it work with my black kurti from ”JABONG”.
I bought this kurti online from JABONG three months back.. I had forgotten about it as it was nearly lost in the heap of clothes in my almirah… (Imagine, it’s a constant complain that we don’t have enough clothes to wear).
OKYA5846IMG_7887This short length kurti has got beautiful embroidered floral sleeves. The sleeve pattern seems to be inspired by the Victorian Era, and The stunning embroidery only enhances it. The body of the kurti is a smart fit with well placed panels and darts. It’s made of a self textured cotton blend fabric. It feels feather like on the skin.

IMG_7885

I wanted the bright embroidery colors of the kurti stand out so I accessorized with tribal earrings from Rajasthan (they are gifted). In my right hand I am flaunting gold rose watch, which BTW was a self-gift for successfully completing a fashion project.
Another gift which completes the look is the amazing brown colored leather sling bag with a sturdy gold chain.
Final accessories are the gorgeous black heels from “Carrie”.  As always, a sleek and a comfortable pair..(I have an eye for super trendy and comfortable footwear…!!!)

IMG_7902IMG_7922

This time I tied my hair in a high pony with three twisted side braid and kept my lips nude to give full focus to my colorful earrings.
There’s really nothing more classic than a winged eyeliner look, which is my personal favorite.

How to beat the summer heat…

FullSizeRender 16Mumbai Summer’s are crazy…
It’s mix of lots of humidity and heat (40degree+), so calming your senses plus looking fashionable and comfortable in any outfit is difficult.
On those days of summer when I can’t continuously feel as fresh as a watermelon, MAXI dress is a saviour.
But this time I wanted a floor length Maxi dress and was really looking for a comfortable fabric which can absorb the heat. It should be soothing to the eyes but vibrant in colours.
So I was visiting a mall in Vashi and after lot of searching i laid my eyes on this beautiful blue floor length Maxi, with orange floral khadi print.
Voila it was a perfect fit from the word go !!!
IMG_1718
IMG_1725IMG_1717The brand is “GLOBAL DESI”, their collection is fresh and full of bright colours.
So the very next day, a couple of my freinds called me for an impromptu tea party which gave me a chance to flaunt my latest possession.
I styled my dress wearing two different bracelets. One was a black metal broad Bracelet from “THE BOMBAY STORE”, which was handcrafted by the artisans. Second one is red neckpiece with thick metal beads from “Dilli Haat” which I have worn as a bracelet.
FullSizeRender 8Oxidised Earrings are from “GLOBUS”, they are so beautiful that I am sure I will use them in many of my upcoming shoots, because they can be worn with both western and Indian outfits.

My wedges are from “Carrie” and they are super comfortable to walk or even dance. I wore an anklet to match up the whole look, which i had picked up from “Dilli Haat” while sourcing fabrics and accessories for a client.

My overall look is very simple and carefree. Open hair and pink lipstick really enhanced the overall fresh boho look.
